MINISTRIES & PROGRAMS

  • Children’s Ministries

    Nursery

Our nursery workers take great joy in providing care for infants and children up to three years old for every public service of our church.  The nursery is located at the north side of the building next to the North Auditorium.  Lisa Gillaspie is the Nursery Director.

    Sunday School

Sunday School is offered weekly in age appropriate classes at 10am on Sundays.  The location of these classes can be found in the Map and Class Schedule in your Visitor’s Packet or here (PDF).  All of our Sunday School classes (including adult) teach the same subject each week to promote Bible discussion opportunities in the home.

    Junior Church

This is designed for children who are 1st through 7th grades.  The Junior Church meets with the adults in the 11am morning service and is dismissed after the scripture reading.  Matt Burkhead is the Junior Church preacher.

    Wednesday Night Patch Clubs

The Patch the Pirate Clubs are divided into two areas: Pee Wee Patch Club is 3 year olds through 1st Grade and the Patch the Pirate Club is 1st-7th graders.  Co-Captains Chris (Senor Escobar) & (Bootstrap) Bekah Rhoades oversee the Patch Clubs.

  • Adult Bible Classes

    Biblical Foundations Class

This class rotates 22 lessons and is designed so that anyone can start the class at any given week.  Basics of Christianity are covered and explained.  Teens are welcome in this class.   This class is offered seasonally and Matt & Miranda Burkhead are the teachers.

    Pastor’s Auditorium Class

All of the Sunday School lessons at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church are on the same topic (except the Foundations Class) and taught at each classes’ appropriate level.  Pastor Nick Gillaspie teaches the auditorium class in a classroom style where questions are welcomed.

    One-On-One Discipleship

For a more intensive and personal course, our church offers One-On-One Discipleship.  The lessons are more specific and detailed than the Foundations Class, and a student meets with his “discipler” on a weekly basis.  See Pastor if you would like more information on our discipleship program.

    Wednesday Bible Study

Our Wednesday night Bible studies feature both verse by verse studies of scripture and series of lessons.  Both adults and teens find these studies enjoyable and informative.  If you want to learn more about your Bible this is the place to be.

    Women's Missionary Fellowship

Our ladies get together once a month for fellowship.  In these meetings are great snacks, lively and uplifting conversation, a short lesson, and a presentation about one of our missionaries.  All ladies are invited and encouraged to attend.  Please see Jackie Johnson for more information.

  • Outreach

    Sunday Outreach

At 2pm on Sundays, some of the people of our church take the Gospel to the needy Eugene/Springfield area.  There is a short lesson given by Pastor at 2pm.  People who don't want to/aren't ready to talk are pared with someone who does.

    Nursing Home Ministry

A dedicated group of ladies from our church go into selected nursing homes in the area to befriend, comfort, and give the Gospel.  For more information or to get involved, see Miranda Burkhead.

    Missions Emphasis

Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church strives to support both foreign and domestic missions with our prayers, care packages, and financial support.

    Bus Ministry

While our bus ministry is not yet active on a weekly basis, we would be glad to come to your home and give you a ride to church.  Simply contact the church office and give them your address.

    Jail Ministry

Pastor Nick Gillaspie frequents the Lane County Jail (usually not as an inmate) when requested by inmates, or their family and friends.  Feel free to contact the church office if you would like an inmate visited.
