Nick & Lisa Gillaspie

Pastor Nick Gillaspie was born in Oregon and grew up here in Springfield.  Shortly after high school graduation, Pastor was married to his high school sweetheart , joined the Air Force, and was an aircraft mechanic on Lockheed C-141B Starlifters. 

It was while in the Air Force and stationed in New Jersey that he realized God's calling on his life to pastor. He and his wife, Lisa, decided to go to Bible College in Indiana.  Pastor & Lisa served in the military ministry while there and helped Dr.& Mrs. Bob Hooker direct the Sailor Ministry for over six years.

During Bible College he was listed in "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities" and on the Dean's List.   After graduating with a degree in Pastoral Theology, Pastor came to believe that God was calling him to start a church in Springfield, Oregon.  He immediately resigned his position in the military ministry and began to prepare to come to Oregon.

Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church started May 16th, 2004.  The Gillaspie's have been married 16 years and have three children, Titus (13), Ashley (7), and Brooke (5).  They very much look forward to serving the Eugene/Springfield area for many years to come. Lisa also serves as the Nursery Director.

Matt & Miranda Burkhead

Assistant Pastor Matt Burkhead grew up in the Tri-Cities area of southwest

Washington.  Upon graduation from high school, moved to Indiana to attend Bible college.   It was there that he met his wife, Miranda.

Matt & Miranda served in the Sailor Ministry with the Gillaspies and moved to Springfield to start the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

Matt serves as Assistant Pastor, Teen Sunday School Leader, and Congregational Song Leader.

Miranda serves as the Beginner Classes Superintendent and director of the Women's Missionary Fellowship.

The Burkheads have been married for nine years and have two children, Gavin (7) and Ethan (4).
